After this little first attempt to describe the
historical background (completely limited by English level¡) , I have decided to
do work in what I really can contribute something; modeling.
First thing is, what figures can we use in the 1/72
market?; There aren´t a lot of references in this scale, we can found;

Infantry Organitation;
The
infantry was organized in regiments (but each regimen had one battalion, so, in
this period they are equivalents. Each regiment (or battalion) had eight companies, plus one
company of Grenadiers, and one of light infantry; Each company was composed of
47 soldiers. During this campaign the Grenadier Company and the light infantry company
was separated to form grenadier battalions (of eight grenadier companies) and
the same for the light infantry.

lot of books about this theme, but sometimes too much information it´s very

In this chart,
you can see the main different parts of the British infantry uniform and their
colors.
Coat; Red. Turnbacks
(lining); White
Facings (collar,narrow lapels, cuffs); Regiment color.
Waistcoat and breeches; In white. In buff color, for the
regiments with buff as regimental color.
Each
regiment had a regimental color; it was the color of the regimental flag and
was the color of the facings of the coat; The regimental colors were Yellow,
green, white, orange, blue and Buff. Those regimens with the buff color had the
lining in buff color too.
The musician
had the regimental color and the red color of the coat exchanged. here, a photo, with the musician, and the two flags of the regiment; the Union Jack, and the flag with the regimental color (both with the regiment emblem)

Organización de la infantería
La infantería estaba organizada en regimientos (pero cada
regimiento tenía un batallón, así que eran equivalentes. Cada regimiento (o
batallón) tenía ocho compañías, más una de granaderos y una de infantería
ligera. Cada compañía estaba compuesta por 47 soldados. Durante esta campaña,
la compañía de granaderos y la de infantería ligera fueron apartadas para
formar batallones de granaderos ( de ocho compañías) e igual para la infantería
ligera.

Chaquetón; rojo. Vuelta: Blanco.
Facings (cuello, solapa,
puños); Colores del regimiento.
Camisa y pantalones;
en blanco. En color ante para los regimientos en color regimental “ante”.
Cada regimiento tenía un color regimental, Era el color de
la bandera del regimiento y el color de los distintivos de color propio de las
partes que hemos visto en el chaquetón. En los regimientos con color regimental
“ante” todas estas zonas en color “ante”.

they are very
good figures, but they are valid only for the American militias of the first
period of war, it´s difficult to constitute a realistic unit with them (some of
them are represented in Winter Clothes, other in summer ones) and in reference and
what is very important for me, they are very difficult to modify because the
position of their arms.
Son
muy buenas figuras, pero solo son válidas para las milicias americanas del
primer periodo. Es difícil constituir con ellas una unidad realista (algunas
están representadas en ropa de invierno, otras en verano) y en esta referencia,
y esto es muy importante para mí, las figuras son muy difíciles de modificar

Making a regiment;
Our first British unit will be a regiment with Buff as regimental color; I´m going to base the units according to war games
rules like black powder; 24 figures each regiment, with six 40*40mm bases, four figures in each one. One of the bases
containing the standard bearer, the musician and the officer, plus one private. The rest of the bases containing four privates (well, in one of
the I include one sergeant with a halberd.
This is a simple one; practically the five standard
bases are constitute with the same figure; (the first one you can see) Only changing the angle of their
arms legs and guns, and adding some heads and
arms from another figures (in other color); this is the phase that I enjoy
most, trying to find compatibilities between figures, head, arms, guns…
La primera unidad británica será un regimiento con color regimental de "ante".Voy a hacer bases de figuras para
que sean compatibles para reglamentos de wargames del tipo "Black
poder": cada regimiento con 24 figuras, en seis bases de madera de 40*40
mm, y cuatro figuras en cada base. Una de las bases conteniendo el abanderado,
el músico y el oficial, más un soldado raso. El resto de las bases contendrán
cuatro soldados rasos (suelo incluir en una de ellas un sargento con alabarda)
Este ejemplo es muy sencillo; las cinco bases de infantería estándar están
constituidas con la misma figura (la primera que podéis ver). Sólo cambiando el
ángulo de sus brazos, piernas y añadiendo algunas cabezas y extremidades de
otras figuras ( en otro color); es la fase en la que disfruto más, intentado
encontrara cabezas, extremidades y armas compatibles entre ellas...
Painting
After this, I glued them on sticks; I primer them on black: I paint all the base colors
(vallejo model color); I wash them with a mixture of tints ( agrax earthshade
and nuln oil); They get darked, once dried, I repaint the prominent parts with the same base color
for highlight them (and in some cases I repaint the center of this parts with same color
but lightening.
Pintura;
Después de esto, pego las figuras sobre palitos; las imprimo en negro, luego pinto todos los colores base ( con Vallejo color) luego les hago un lavado con una mezcla de tintas ( agrax earthshade
and nuln oil); Quedan más oscuras; una vez secas, repinto las partes prominentes en los colores base otra vez para realzar las partes con más luz; y en algunos casos repinto el centro de estas partes con los colores bases aclarados,
Basing.
Once finished the painting it´s time to basing them; I
had seen a lot of types of basing in internet, and I think that many times, despite
many of them are very beautiful and brilliant, but they don´t have a very god
relationship with the matt in which tey have to play…so, why don´t we use the
same kind of matt? So I bought a little matt, and cut 40*40 mm squares; inside them, in the position of the figures, i cut holes for gluing them, and after doing it, i refilled these spaces con Flock o arena
.
Baseado
Una vez terminada la fase de
pintura, es tiempo de hacer las bases; he visto por internet muchos tipos de
bases, y muchas de ellas son preciosas; pero luego al ponerlas en el terreno de
juego ( suele ser un tapiz de homogéneo de césped) no tiene una buena relación
con ella...¿Por qué no usar el mismo tapiz? Así que compre un tapíz de césped y
corté cuadarados de 40*40 mm.; dentro de ellos recorté unos agujeritos en la
posición aproximada donde iban a ir las figuras, y después de pegarlas rellené
el espacio que quedaba con césped suelto o arena.

Before the war, there were many militia
units, which have fought against the Spanish and French troop. In 1775 some of
them were uniformed, while most of them wore civilian clothing. This is the
case of our next unit, characteristic of the very first period of the conflict.
For building this unit I have used 1/72 scale figures of the -Accurate Set 7201
American Militia and the IMEX set 521 Pilgrims. This time, for the bases I have
added some bushes and flowers…I don´t know if the result is suitable for a
wargame unit¡¡
